Popfizz Corp. ("Cobi," "we," "us," or "our") operates Cobi Computer Science, an online educational platform designed primarily for middle and high school students, teachers, and schools.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and the choices available to students, parents, teachers, and schools.
Cobi is designed to minimize the personal information required from students.
Students may create an account using an email address or a username. An email address is optional. Students are not required to use their real names and may enter any name they choose.
Cobi does not require students to provide a school name, student ID, phone number, IP address, or device or browser information.
Students may create an account independently, but they cannot access a Cobi course unless they have been invited by a teacher.

Payments are processed by Stripe. Cobi may retain limited billing information, such as the name associated with a payment. Payment card information is processed by Stripe and is not stored on Cobi's servers.
Cobi supports Google Sign-In and integrations with Canvas, Schoology, and LTI-compatible systems.
Google Sign-In is used for authentication. Cobi does not access Google Classroom data through Google Sign-In.
Canvas, Schoology, and LTI integrations may provide Cobi with a user's email address for authentication or account integration.
Cobi's use of information received through Google APIs also complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy and its Limited Use requirements.

Cobi is primarily designed for middle and high school students, but students under 13 may use Cobi through a school or educational institution.
When Cobi collects student information through a school-authorized educational service, we use that information to provide and support the educational services requested by the school. We do not use children's information for advertising or unrelated commercial purposes.
Parents and legal guardians may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their child's information by contacting us at hello@gocobi.com.
We may take reasonable steps to verify the identity and authority of a person making a request concerning a child's information.
Cobi offers an optional AI Grader that teachers may use to assist with grading student submissions. When AI Grader is used, the submitted work is processed by Anthropic. Cobi does not send student names or email addresses with these submissions, and the information is not used to train or retained by Anthropic.

Cobi may use technologies necessary for authentication, security, user sessions, and core website functionality.
Cobi retains information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide educational services, maintain educational records requested by schools, fulfill contractual or legal obligations, and operate our services.
Student information may remain in Cobi after a school stops using the service until the school requests deletion or the information is no longer reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected.
Schools may request deletion of their student data at any time. Parents and legal guardians may also request deletion of their child's information.
When deletion is requested, Cobi will delete the applicable information within a reasonable period, subject to information we are legally required or permitted to retain.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, loss, or destruction.
Cobi's services are hosted using Amazon Web Services. Access to personal information is limited to authorized individuals who need access to perform their responsibilities.
Parents and legal guardians may contact Cobi to request access to, correction of, or deletion of their child's information.

Cobi uses third-party services to operate and provide its services, including AWS, Google, Stripe, Anthropic, Canvas, and Schoology. These services may have their own privacy policies and terms.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our services, practices, or applicable laws.
